To hell with those feelings, God is always with you!

God loves you and His love is endless. His love for us is incomprehensible, words are not sufficient to describe it. He loves you more than your mum loved you when she gave birth to you. God loves you more than you can ever love yourself.
Do not let any situation you are going through take you away from His love. No matter how unpleasant the situation is, hold on to His love.
When you don't understand, still hold on to Him.
God will never give up on you. The fact that you are alive means He is not through with you and His plans for you are good.
Sometimes you may feel like He is far from you when you need Him most, to hell with those feelings, God is always with you. He never leaves you even when you go astray.
Never feel ashamed or unworthy to run to Him when you fall, His love is forgiving. His chances are unlimited, so never feel it's too late.
Begin each day with confidence in His love. In His love there is strength, joy and peace which the world cannot give. Strive to be close to God because

I pray this touches someone...

Be uniquely different!

Take a break from yourself

Excruciating is the appropriate adjective to describe the pain I felt when I realised that I had mistakenly deleted my blog post for the week; a post I painstakingly composed.  It was a topic that got me excited and brought smiles to my face. I must have deleted it when I was de-cluttering my stored messages. I had so many of them especially on my blackberry that they began to irritate me. You know the message icon on blackberry- it is the warehouse for twitter messages, BB chats (and broadcasts) and stored messages. Most times I draft blog posts and store them there. So you can imagine how annoying it is for me to scroll down 13 unnecessary messages to get to an important one.
On Thursday, I decided to get rid of them and I got rid of my blog post. I discovered this on Saturday morning when I wanted to publish it. It was a painful ouch! I didn’t know how to start all over. Not that I couldn’t, but it was not pleasurable thinking about it. So I decided not to blog that day (my way of rebelling). The following day Sunday, after mass and a long nap, I decided to work on my blog instead. (Rewriting that blog post was not part of my agenda, as I was still hurting over losing it.)
Recently I added pages to my blog (About, My Quotes and Contact). The About page was reading ‘work in progress’ as I had not written what I wanted to publish about me. However that Sunday, I made sure I typed and published the contents of my ‘About’ page. I added more quotes to ‘My Quotes’ page from my Twitter account @frediliamomodu and edited my contact information. Also, I added a video page to my blog and shared two videos on it (the first video is my favourite- a room tourof a room I detested during NYSC). I finished working on my disclaimer and published it. The joy I felt after working on my blog site overpowered the anger I felt for mistakenly deleting the unpublished blog post. I was sincerely impressed even though it made me realise I still had a lot more work to do.

That was when it came to me like a light bulb that once in a while we need to take a break from the routine. We need to look at what we have done so far and re-evaluate ourselves. We need to look at what we have been doing, areas we can or should improve on and make the necessary changes. Sometimes we become experts in the routine and gloat in our distorted expertise. We need to be able to plan ourselves well enough not to fall victims of the usual. We ought to know when to take a break and look at the big picture. We need to figuratively step out of our bodies and re-evaluate ourselves thoroughly. It helps us realise where we have gone wrong or what we have been missing. It helps us realise if we have been living someone else's dreams or living the kind of life we desire deep down inside. Ultimately, it makes us more focused, balanced, fulfilled and happier individuals.

This incident made me remember the seventh habit in 7 habits of highly effective people by Stephen R. Covey- sharpen the saw; where he told a story of a man who had been sawing a tree for over five hours and was complaining about how difficult it was. When advised by another man to take time out to sharpen his saw, he replied that he was too busy sawing.
Let us not get caught up trying to get results that we lose the essence of our being.  Do not give in to the pressures of our fast paced world that you don’t pause to smell the flowers. Do not get caught up in doing that you don’t be. Take a break from yourself; sharpen your saw and during this phase, ask yourself questions like this, “Who am I? What do I represent? What do I want from life? Why am I doing this? Is this what I truly want from life? Am I truly happy and so many more” Whatever question you may ask yourself or whichever way you may go about it, the whole essence is to guide you to living the life you truly desire, a life that brings joy to your heart and smiles to your face when you think of it. A life that brings you satisfaction. A life that doesn't have to be perfect (and most times  isn't) but must be yours.

Just like two children writing a long essay with a pencil and both eager to get their ideas out. One child keeps writing without taking a pause to sharpen his pencil because he is carried away with the ideas pouring out of him. He keeps writing oblivious how his work looks. All he wants is to finish and get all his ideas out. The pencil becomes blunt but he keeps writing till he is done. However the second child while writing checks his pencil; if blunt, takes out his sharpener, and sharpens it. Each time he notices the pencil is blunt, he takes out his sharpener and sharpens it. The first child got attention for finishing first while the second got recognition for finishing well.

A dose of motivation-Four Cardinal Points for everyone

Hi sweet people, remember when I told you I was writing an article for our church's children's harvest brochure in My Saturday blog post, and I said I would share it with you after it is published? Well, this is it! Enjoy!

It is the prayer of everyone to live a happy and fulfilled life on earth and we have various desires, goals, and dreams we all hope to achieve - to help us attain this. However, circumstances surrounding us may not be so encouraging and in contrast with what we desire. Also, some people may have a strong conviction that they could make it in a particular field but the fear that they might not succeed prevents them from taking a bold step. While others keep procrastinating, when all they need to make it are all around them.
The bible passage from Mark 5:21-43 has the perfect words for us.

1. Always have a purpose and set goals
One thing was pretty obvious as Jesus was passing through the crowd; many people touched Him. What happened to them? Nothing!  All of them that came in contact with Him did not get what they wanted or needed except the woman who had a purpose in her heart-the woman with the issue of blood. Imagine everyone in the crowd had set goals and believed it; the story would have been entirely different with many people receiving solutions to their problems.
At any point you are in your life; don’t just drag your feet through life. Always have a purpose based on the dreams you have for yourself-set goals and go for them.

2. Don't let obstacles distract you from achieving your goals
There was no laid down fact that touching Jesus' garment brought healing. She believed and went for it. However, she had to pass through the crowd to get to Jesus. She had a target and did not let anything hold her back. She made her way to Jesus (and I am very sure she would have received many criticisms from the people in the crowd as she forced her way through them). She ignored all of that, touched his garment and got her healing.
Obstacles are different things for different people. For instance, you might to start up your own business as a hair stylist, and finance may be your obstacle. As long as you are passionate about it, start with what you have. You could start from home service doing the styles you have the tools for. Just do your job well, word will spread, you get more clients and all your dreams will start becoming a reality.

3. Stay away from negative influences
When Jesus wanted to heal Jairus' daughter, he made sure those who were laughing left the premises. He didn't perform the miracle in their presence because they had contrasting goals. The disciples and the parents of the damsel wanted to see healing but the others didn't believe she could be healed. That is why they thought it was ridiculous when Jesus said she was sleeping. Jesus didn't waste precious time trying to convince them to believe, the result would convince them. He did away with them and did what He came for.
Some people may ridicule you when you tell them your goals and plans; some may even discourage you with all sorts of stories. You don’t need such company. Move with like minds. It doesn’t mean you should not be open to criticisms and advices, but take them wisely. No matter what you are told, you hold the power to make the final decision. Your results will convince them.

4. With God all things are possible
While Jesus was speaking with the healed woman, one of the rulers informed them that the damsel had died and there was no need to bother Jesus. But Jesus said to him, ''Be not afraid, only believe''. I don't think I need to expatiate on this; the words speak for themselves.
God did not bless you with natural gifts or talents for nothing, so why should you be afraid to use what God has deposited in you? He didn’t give you the spirit of fear but of a sound mind. Stop being afraid but believe God will give you all you need to succeed.

Well, with these four cardinal points in mind, nothing should stop you from bearing the best of fruits with the seeds God has planted in you. God created you for a purpose and you don't have to rack your brain trying to figure it out. He reveals them to us in different ways: through talents, skills, gifts, feelings, convictions, interests, hobbies, what people say about you, revelations, dream and other numerous ways.
Make sure you set goals for yourself and make the best use of your time, your resources and the opportunities each day presents. Always do your best and let God take care of the rest.

Remember, when you walk with God you are like a seed planted by the riverside and watered by God himself.

Three important lessons for everyone

I was really touched by the gospel reading of today that I said I was going to share. The gospel was taken from Mark 5:21-43 and I got three important lessons from the reading:

1. Don't let obstacles distract you from achieving your goals
When Jesus was trying to get through the crowd to get to Jairus' house, the woman with the issue of blood decided to touch the hem of his garment believing she would be healed. There was no laid down fact that touching Jesus' garment brought healing. She believed and went for it, but she had to pass through the thick crowd to get to Jesus. She had a target (to get healed) and didn't let anything hold her back. She made her way to Jesus (and I am very sure she would have receive some criticisms from the people in the crowd as she forced her way through them), touched his garment and got healed.
2. Stay away from negative influences
When Jesus wanted to heal Jarius' daughter, he made sure those who were laughing left the premises. He didn't perform the miracle in their presence because they had contrasting goals. The disciples and the parents of the damsel wanted to see healing but the others didn't believe she could be healed that is why they thought it was ridiculous when Jesus said she was sleeping and laughed. Jesus didn't waste precious time trying to convince them to believe, the result would convince them. He did away with them and did what He came for.
3. With God all things are possible
While Jesus was speaking with the healed woman, one of the rulers informed them that the damsel had died and there was no need to bother Jesus. But Jesus said to him, ''Be not afraid, only believe''. I don't think I need to expatiate on this further, the words speak for themselves.

Well, with these three important lessons in mind, nothing can or should stop you from bearing the best of fruits with the seeds God has planted in you. God created you for a purpose and you don't have to rack your brain trying to figure it out. Set goals for yourself and take each day as they come by making the best use of your time and of the opportunities each day presents. Always do your best and be a source of blessing wherever you are.
Remember, when you walk with God you are like a seed planted by the riverside and watered by God himself.

Life is too short for you not to do things you love...(good things please!)

Last night, I went into the kitchen to prepare my dinner, but something strange happened. As I was taking out the oats from the container with a spoon, I felt a strong urge to eat from a deep bowl. Out of reflex, I said it out loud, ''I feel like eating from a deep bowl!'', at the same time demonstrating with the container of oats.

Immediately, I went into the kitchen store and got the deepest bowl that was within my closest reach....an old blue cooler
As I was preparing my oats, my sister who was also in the kitchen told me that I wasn't serious; but I replied her subconsciously, ''life is too short for me not to do the things I feel like doing (good things I mean)''....and voila my oats...
yum yum yum...same oats, different experience! I savored every spoon and I felt so good.

Although this is an almost insignificant event but the moral of my story...(admitting that it's not so easy) always try to live your life as you dream to live it. It doesn't have to be perfect, neither do you have to wait for the perfect moment (because it might never come). Use what you have/your present situation to your advantage, make it work for you, take it one day at a time...and most importantly, I Luv U!

As a footnote, here are my favorites bowls which I mostly use for fruits and cereals...featuring them so they don't get jealous.
