How faith works? From pending abortion at 6 weeks to 7month baby bump...

Gazing lovingly at the mental X-ray of this beautiful baby bump; I remember I was told, when he was 6weeks old, that I had an empty sack and an impending abortion. That was the radiographer's report. πŸŒΉπŸ’–πŸŒΉ
.
.
The doctor told me to do an evacuation immediately to avoid infection. I refused to believe the report but trusted in the God that made me pregnant. The doctor was marvelled by my faith. πŸ’–πŸŒΉπŸ’–
.
.
7 months later, this beautiful baby bump.
@mcbustamouth on his knees was epic for me, because the boy too dey do shakara. #babyboyforlife #sweetboysassociation πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹

What is the Formula for Happiness?

Last Friday was a weird day for me. I got news from a close partner-in-crime that he was leaving the country. (partner-in-crime aka paddy, buddy, ore mi atata, before Naija police will come and carry me).  He showed me pictures of his new home; I saw the well-tarred road in the background of the picture and I exclaimed, 'Nigeria'!

πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬

Then, just in subsequent nanoseconds, thoughts of our unique numerous problems slowly crept into my mind: insensitive Government, senseless traffic jam, disorganised transport system, snail-paced emergency agencies, potholed roads, absent parking spaces, mud-floored markets, fear of rainfall, roads barricaded with heaps of litter, blocked drainage, epileptic power supply, to mention a few.
πŸ˜±πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ˜±πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ˜±πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ˜±πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ˜±πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ˜±

I just imagined life without these acquired problems...hmmm...oh so blissful, that I plunged into a state of despair.

😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

I tried to make myself happy through all the means I knew how to, but I couldn't. Thought of my family, gratitude for life, past blessings, nothing worked.

All I felt like doing was stare into space and just stay idle, until someone cracked a rather stupid joke that made me burst into hysterics and out of my bubble of despair.

πŸŒ…πŸŒ…πŸŒ…πŸŒ…πŸŒ…πŸŒ…πŸŒ…πŸŒ…πŸŒ…πŸŒ…πŸŒ…

And I realised I was just working myself up for nothing. Naija problems will not disappear because Fredilia is sad.

My son is my natural alarm, crying and laughing...

Good morning beautiful people, I woke up and felt I should share this. Today is Sunday, I am not going to church. I planned to sleep in😴 to compensate for waking early during the week.
.
.
I woke up twice to bottle feed🍼 my son and to make my daughter wee, so she doesn't soil her bed. The weather was pleasantly cool, perfect for sleeping. I was in dreamlandπŸ’, all was perfect, until he cried for attention.
This boy has an inbuilt alarm⌚, once it is 7am he wakes. All efforts to make him lie still beside me was in vain.😭
.
.
He was poking my eyes, nose and mouth, and making noise. All I could do was smile helplessly, in gratitude for such a beautiful soulπŸ‘Ό. He wasn't even hungry because he didn't take his milk. He just wanted to play.
See his face.
.
.
So I am officially awake... Bonjour mums (yawning...and dads)!

HOW DO YOU EAT BIG MEAT SERVED AT WEDDINGS

At home right now but thinking about something funny that happened at this wedding. I was served a plate of fried rice, jollof rice, moimoi and a big piece of sumptuous looking cow meat. I ate my rice and moimoi but didn't know to eat my meat. I didn't want to use my hands to tear it apart as:

1. I couldn't afford to soil my makeup.
2. I didn't see any serviette on the table.
3. I had no wipe to clean my hands afterwards.

So I stared at my meat while it was gloating that I couldn't eat it. (You never jam... Na me and you today, I said to myself.) I looked at hubby and he was eating his last bit of meat. I just whispered to him to help 'dice' my meat. His teeth is actually sharper than mine lolz. DH turned my big piece of meat to asun, and I ate the whole damn thing while sipping my drink.

PS: Nigerian caterers please cut the meat you served at weddings in small bits if you know you won't provide table knives.

WHEN YOU HAVE HAD ENOUGH

Don't push me to the wall or I will give it to you. Don't tell me to stop because I won't.

Hot I will give it to you as it burns me.

Raw and dirty you must have it.

You definitely don't want me when you are not ready.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Shout out to haters who like to run their mouths. Love you still...you inspire me.

Have you sown seeds that worth the miracles you ask for?

On my way to work, I said a short prayer “God please let someone bless me with a miracle phone”. This was after my phone broke. To my amazement, I got an instant response.

“Have you sown seeds that worth the miracles you ask for?”
“How do you mean?” I asked my conscious in surprise, “That I don't deserve a gift phone?”
"I only asked if you have sown seeds that worth the miracles you ask for?" my conscience answered.

Wow, it hit me like a bomb!

Have I given a 100% on my job? Have I been generous to the less privileged and beggars I see on the street? Have I been sensitive to the plight of those close to me? Did I offer kind words when I could?

All these questions and more flooded my mind...before you get frustrated that God hasn't given you that which you ask for, look inwards.

CHANGE BEGINS WITH ME-Featured post

My article 'My version of change begins with me' was featured on Hello Naija. I want to thank PMB for the inspiration and God for the talent.

Article: I cooked chicken stew and vegetable soup on
Thursday, and planned to eat rice and stew with
fried plantain on Friday. On my way home from
work, I decided to buy plantain. I had just N1500
with me and I also wanted to buy Dano milk and
Indomie, so I stopped by a superstore.
The price of Dano milk had risen from N550 to
N750 and indomie as we all know is now N50
from N35. I wanted 6 packs i.e. N300, both
totaling N1050. I had N450 change left to buy
the plantain which was N400; but I was angry,
because I noticed that since the era of change, I
never came back with change. I always spend all
the money I take shopping. Sometimes, I’m even
tempted to use my debit card. (I have stopped
using POS machines so I don’t clean my account
in a swipe.)
In order not to feel bad since ‘change starts with
me,’ I started justifying why plantain wasn’t
necessary to eat with rice. “Rice is
carbohydrate. Ripe plantain is carbohydrate, and
I’ll have to fry it, which is not so healthy. In
Nigeria, our meals are mostly carbohydrates, so I
should cut down on excess carbs. No much
nutrient in the plantain sef . The chicken is high
in protein. Boiled egg is more nutritious.”
Chai ! See me talking to myself because of
change! Yes, boiled egg is more nutritious, but
haba, is it the once-in-a-while fried plantain that
would kill me? This change eh …

Functional or Fashionable?

Which do you consider when you want to purchase an item? Do think of its functionality or how fashionable it is? The best option is to consider both. I will never advise you to go for an archaic product because it is functional. But when you must choose one over the other, please go for functionality. I learnt the hard way.

I can be annoyingly clumsy with it comes to the way I handle my phone. I don’t know why, but my phone just loves dropping from my hand and crashing to the ground. I have been so lucky that my phone hasn’t suffered much damage except superficial scratches and cracks on the side of the phone.

Last week, I went to get a phone case to protect my phone from further damage, but the case given to me (one that would have been the best for me) wasn’t flashy. I wanted a phone case with glitters and jewels, you know, something fashionable and girly, which he didn’t have. So I didn’t buy any.

Unfortunately for me after 3 days, the witches and wizards from my village finally won. My phone fell from my hand to the tiled floor and had a fatal injury. Both screen and screen saver crashed, the phone refused to come on. Lights flashed from it like it was breathing its last breathe. Poor me! All my write-ups, my brainstorming, my pictures! Still in shock!
So purrlease people, (dragging the please in my American accent) if you must choose, choose functionality over fashion! Only if I could rewind the hands of time…

Be uniquely different, be you.
